'Losar' is the name of the Tibetan New Year festivities. What inspired me is the way the Tibetans celebrate the coming of a new cycle: During Losar, the Tibetan celebration of the new year, Tibetans do not drink champagne to celebrate. Instead, they go to the local spring to perform a ritual of gratitude, relating to the sacred nature of the external and internal elements. With the prospect of a post-pandemic life in mind, a new beginning so to say, I wanted to express my hope that we become more aware that we can't go back to our old habits of overexploiting our natural and human resources. The sadness lies in the realisation this might possibly be our last chance at a new beginning.
